Telemedicine Policy Summit
Wednesday, May 8, 2013
8:30am – 12:30pm

Austin Convention Center
Fourth Floor, Room 19A/B
Separate Registration Required

In recent years, one of the most progressive areas for telehealth policy has been state capitals. Half of the states have active legislative proposals expanding telemedicine coverage – more than ever before.  We expect even more action in 2014!

To take advantage of these new opportunities at the state level, ATA is coordinating it's inaugural State Policy Summit, on Wednesday, May 8, 2013. Austin, the capital of one of the most heavy telemedicine-using states, is the perfect setting for this event.

This Summit, to be held in conjunction with the ATA 2013 Annual Meeting, will bring state leaders and other stakeholders together to share and learn about best practices for using telehealth to improve health care delivery and costs.  The focus is on making the best use of telemedicine, mHealth and other remote healthcare technologies to improve health care in each state.

Specific topics will include:
  • Medicaid coverage and reimbursement
  • State best practices
  • Legislation for private plans’ parity for telehealth
  • Medical licensure portability and practice rules
  • Showcasing Texas as an example of aggressive and coordinated state action
The Summit is for designed for state policy decision-makers, telehealth leaders, advisors and advocates, health policy wonks and anyone interested in promoting telemedicine through state policy.

There is a separate $75 registration fee to attend the State Policy Summit. Register now using the ATA 2013 Registration Portal.
