The U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, (USAMRMC) through its Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC) will once again sponsor an open meeting exploring the potential applications of Army Telemedicine investments in response to disasters, emergencies and providing medical care to under-served populations. The theme of this one-day meeting is: "Army Telemedicine Partnerships: Meeting Medical Challenges in A Changing World." Presentations of these telemedical efforts by Army-managed telemedicine investigators will be accompanied by presentations from international experts focusing on the opportunities to leverage these telemedical technologies. Telemedicine¹s role as an enabler in the effort to reach out to, and deliver care to, populations in crisis and need will be discussed. Office for the Advancement of Telehealth Grantee Meeting

The Office for the Advancement of Telehealth (OAT) serves as a focal point for telehealth activities within the DHHS Health Resources and Services Administration. OAT promotes the adoption of advanced technologies to provide health care services and education for the underserved. During the ATA Annual Meeting, current and former grantees of the OAT’s Rural Telemedicine Grant Program will gather to discuss the program and other issues related to telehealth. California Telemedicine and eHealth Center Grantee Meeting

The Second Annual Mobile Health Clinics Forum: Strategies for Program Development & Sustainability

This conference is presented by The Mobile Health Clinics Network, a nationwide membership organization of medical and oral health professionals who provide healthcare services, with a special emphasis on underserved populations, from Mobile Health clinics. The Forum curriculum will focus on the pragmatic and complex issues of developing, operating, and sustaining a Mobile Health program. Speakers will offer paradigms and “how-to” strategies complemented by roundtable discussions to encourage delegate interaction. Keynote speakers include Dr. Nancy Oriol, Founder of The Family Van, Harvard Medical School, and Rhonda Litt, Executive Director of the Louisiana Primary Care Association. The Forum will also offer “Voices from the Gulf Coast ~ The Mobile Health Solution”, a compelling and inspiring account of the 2005 hurricane disaster and the deployment of Mobile Health clinics to deal with the healthcare crisis aftermath. The mission of the ATALACC is to provide a forum for sharing information and resources to educate and promote telemedicine initiiatives in this region. During the ATA Annual Meeting, ATALACC will hold a symposium to discuss indepth topics and issues relatd to telemedcine and medical informatics in Latin America and the Caribbean. Appalachian Regional Commission Telemedicine/Telehealth Program

The ARC serves 412 counties in parts of 12 states including: AL, GA, KY, MD, MS, NY, NC, Ohio, PA, SC, TN, VA, and all of West Virginia. Potential grantees are invited to attend this discussion of the ARC’s current telemedicine / telehealth program, and learn more about the possibilities of using ARC funds to match other Federal grant programs and how to apply for funding.
