The MTV or Mobile Telemedicine vehicle is the next generation of emergency response vehicles designed to respond to unique emergency and disaster situations. It was built by UNICAT on a Mercedes-Benz UNIMOG Chassis in Germany specifically for Loma Linda University Medical Center. During disasters, patients can be cut off from hospitals and other vital medical care. By utilizing telemedicine technology, the MTV is able to bring medical expertise to areas that could otherwise be unreachable during a disaster. Housed inside the MTV, for additional flexibility, is a Yamaha all-terrain vehicle that can be deployed to access areas that need a smaller vehicle, or can scout out the terrain ahead and communicate back to the MTV.
