    ATA will co-host the first telemedicine technology exhibition at the Binhai International Convention and Exhibition Center in Tianjin, China, outside of Beijing, Oct. 28-30, 2014.   • New Jersey Legislator Introduces Telemedicine Parity Bills

    Legislative movement for telemedicine bills has been a little slow this election year, but that has not lessened lawmakers’ attempts to move the issue forward. So far this year, 16 states have introduced telemedicine parity legislation including New Jersey which introduced bills permitting coverage for private insurance, Medicaid (FFS and managed care), and state employee health plans.

  • Indiana Medicaid Proposes New Telemedicine Rules
    Aug 08, 2014
    Indiana Medicaid has released new proposed rules to implement the telemedicine law enacted last year. Among the proposals, the agency would establish reimbursement methodology for home remote patient monitoring, allow reimbursement from telemedicine providers such as FQHCs, RHCs, CMHCs, and CAHs, and adjust, but not fully remove, the mileage requirements as a condition of payment.

    A large segment of the industry is offering, or plans to offer online patient consultations in the very near future. 47% of providers recently polled by ATA indicated they are currently providing online services directly to patients.
