QUESTION: How do I find out how Medicaid reimburses for telemedicine in my state?

State policies regarding reimbursement for telemedicine vary greatly. The Center for Telehealth and e-Health Law receives funding from the U.S. government through the Office for the Advancement of Telehealth (OAT) to operate a national telehealth resource center. As part of that program, they maintain a web site with information about individual state Medicaid policies for reimbursement of telemedicine. You can access that page by clicking here.

ATA has prepared a white paper on this topic: Medical Assistance and Telehealth - An Evolving Partnership.
