
ATA provides a variety of educational opportunities for our members and other individuals in the telemedicine and e-health field. Educational programs include online courses, certificate courses at ATA meetings webinars and CME credits for attendance at ATA events.

Home Telehealth: The Basics (September 2007) This online certificate course focuses on home telehealth applications and addresses clinical, administrative, financial and legislative issues related to implementing and sustaining successful home telehealth programs. The course is at a beginning level to help novice learners understand these concepts, however, it also can serve as an excellent review for intermediate and advanced learners in meeting educational or competency requirements. The field of home telehealth, remote monitoring and disease management is one of the fastest growing areas within the field of telemedicine. Thus, the need for increasing education and quality assurance measures has grown commensurately with increasing utilization. A key priority of the American Telemedicine Association is to provide educational offerings and through this online course, the ATA strives to meet the informationa nd educational needs of its largest membership base. The ATA;s Home Telehealth Special Interest Group (SIG) executive committee developed this basic course. |

These guidelines and procedures were designed for the use of those establishing a new home telehealth program as well as others revising or reviewing an existing program. |

ATA Meetings
ATA organizes regular conferences and forums on telemedicine practices and the telemedicine industry. These events attract individuals from across the telehealth spectrum: researchers, practitioners, vendors and patients. CME Credits are available for attendence to the ATA Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting also features focused long and short certificate courses for additional CME credits. CMEs are provided through the Unversity of South Florida, College of Medicine.
