ATA Accredited Telemedicine Training Programs 


The continued development of telemedicine--and the assurance of quality, accessible healthcare into the future--relies on training a skilled, competent workforce.  Providing clinicians, administrators and engineers with a skill set in telemedicine ensures that our healthcare system best utilizes the available remote healthcare technologies. 
 
Since 2009, ATA has accredited high-quality telemedicine education programs, to ensure that these courses meet acceptable standards of quality in terms of their content, methods, and resources.  If you are looking for formal degree- or certificate-level training in telemedicine, we strongly encourage you to consider one of the training programs listed below.  Each one has met the rigorous quality standards outlined in ATA's Training Program Accreditation and is a model program for telemedicine education.

AFHCAN, a non-profit division of the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC), provides live customer in their Anchorage offices, at your organization, via video teleconference and webinar as well as computer based training modules you may complete at your own pace. Most training is done with individuals or small groups to allow our trainers to personalize each training experience. Courses include general telehealth orientations, software and hardware training and specialized education for telehealth coordinators.

The Arizona Telemedicine Training Program offers two full-day training sessions:
  1. Developing a Telemedicine Program -  Designed to give a broad overview of a variety of telemedicine topics, including: clinical services, telecommunications and infrastucture development/operations, distance education, evaluation, business aspects and equipment demonstration.  

  2. Telemedicine Applications - Offers a more detailed approach for any telemedicine program, providing a more in-depth look at the clinical applications of a telehealth program.  This conferences are excellent for individuals or groups who have some telehealth experience and are interested in expanding their services.  It's also a great course for those new to telehealth who are interested in understanding this growing industry.

The Health Informatics Masters Degree program has been designed to efficiently provide training in Health Informatics. The program delivers advanced training in informatics to professionals who want to redirect their careers to become a health informaticist, as well as those who are interested in integrating health informatics expertise in their current professional roles.

In the online certificate courses you'll learn core concepts and technologies related to the design, integration, implementation and evaluation of clinical information systems. And, you'll engage with expert faculty and peers representing a variety of professional roles and settings—from physicians and nurses to CIOs and systems analysts.

The Center for Health and Technology (CHT) has developed a curriculum that embraces a multidisciplinary approach while incorporating discussion, lecture and hands-on training. The CHT's uniquely designed facility offers a customized classroom and fully equipped telemedicine training laboratories.  More than 1,750 people from over 800 organizations have attended our training courses — traveling from California, out of state and other countries — since 1999.

CHT offers both one-day executive overviews, as well as two-day telemedicine courses on a regular basis.

CSP's Speech Telepractice Training Program is a two-day training, combining classroom instruction with hands-on experiences. Ten telepractice labs with thirty-seven competencies are taught, practiced, and assessed.

At the completion of training, each participant will be fully skilled and equipped to begin speech telepractice. A combination of direct instruction and hands-on practice in individualized telepractice training labs will be provided.  The training labs provide competency based skills training in every aspect speech therapy telepractice. Each participant will also have a “real time” online coaching 
session with one of our instructors following training
