Telehealth Nursing SIG

The mission of the Telehealth Nursing SIG is to collaborate with our nursing colleagues to provide collective input, guidance and information about telenursing and its various emerging roles and settings, policy, educational preparation, competencies, clinical orientation and the use Telehealth, eHealth and mHealth technologies for patient care.

The Telehealth Nursing SIG interests includes developing and reviewing existing standards and guidelines for telehealth nursing (e.g. competencies, core principles) and increasing awareness globally and disseminating information to one’s legislators or government health organization to advance the role of the telehealth nurse in the 21st century.

SIG members communicate via ATA’s HUB which is a secure internal members communication tool with numerous features, providing member profiles, a members directory, and updates via listservs, forums, blogs and event calendars.

Our SIG offers 6-8 telephone conference calls/per year with opportunities for novice to expert Telenurses to work on special projects, write papers, research and to share our expertise. We provide educational discussions about Telehealth, eHealth, and mHealth for patient care as well as offering educational webinars. Members have the opportunity to participate in the ATA annual and mid-year meetings, pre-conference workshops, meet and greet sessions to learn about our SIG, SIG annual group meeting, professional scientific sessions and the opportunity to submit and participate in a poster or podium presentation at the annual and/or mid-year meetings.
