EDGE Opening Keynote: Senator William Frist, MD

The ATA, the premier organization working to accelerate the adoption of telehealth, is pleased to announce that Senator William H. Frist, MD, former U.S. Senate Majority Leader and telehealth champion, will deliver the opening keynote address at the ATA EDGE Policy Conference on Tuesday, January 12.

Senator William Frist (R), a physician, businessman and former U.S. Senate Majority Leader, will discuss telehealth’s pivotal role in care delivery during the pandemic, implications from the election and the policy and regulatory actions needed to make telehealth part of the ‘new normal’ in healthcare delivery.

The ATA EDGE Conference will focus on the latest state and federal telehealth policies and temporary waivers put in place in response to COVID-19, and the strategies to make access to telehealth permanently available following the public health emergency. This four-week series of two-hour sessions, January 12, 19, 26, and February 2, will convene thought leaders, policymakers, and pundits to discuss post-election perspectives, explore the implications for telehealth, and highlight the modalities that can bridge the gap for vulnerable populations, rural communities, and deliver quality care when and where it’s needed.

EDGE will bring together a diverse group of changemakers, including representatives of government, healthcare delivery systems, academic medical centers, payers, innovators, and solution providers.
