BETTER Act looks to expand medicare coverage for telemental health

Congress is taking another shot at refining Medicare to create more opportunities for mental health services delivered through telehealth.

U.S. Reps. Richard Neal and Kevin Brady have introduced the Beneficiary Education Tools Telehealth Extender Reauthorization (BETTER) Act of 2019 (HR 3417). The 38-page bill offers a list of directives aimed at “improving the quality of and access to services for Medicare beneficiaries,” according to the two Congressmen, both members of the Ways and Means Committee.
