New telestroke program at WVU Barnesville Hospital a time-saver for stroke patients

If a stroke patient comes through the doors of Barnesville Hospital, they are now able to get in contact with neurologists from the WVU Stroke Center immediately to save time.

When someone suffers a stroke, you have to act FAST.

The acronym stands for Facial drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulties and Time. “Anytime with a stroke, time is very important,” Director of Nursing Ryan Gallagher said. “We don’t want people to delay their treatment.”
