Obstacles stand in the way of telemedicine in West Virginia

According to Becky Harless, an administrator at Charleston Area Medical Center, telemedicine can reduce emergency room visits and help cut costs. But, telemedicine is not reimbursable under Medicaid in West Virginia, and Medicare will pay for it only if the patient lives in a rural or remote area.
