'Revolutionary' stroke service trialled on the NSW Mid North Coast to be rolled out regionally

A medical pilot program trialed on the Mid North Coast that gives stroke patients access to the state’s leading specialists in real-time will be rolled out across regional New South Wales.

The telestroke service enables patients in rural and regional areas to receive critical care by specialist doctors via video or telephone.

Stroke Clinical Nurse Consultant at Coffs Harbour Hospital Amanda Buzio said the fast access to leading physicians had revolutionized local care for stroke patients.
