Telemedicine for alcohol use disorder isn't just a fad

Over the last seven weeks, as we respond to the physical and mental health needs of those affected by COVID-19, regulatory burdens and consumer use have begun changing so rapidly providers can barely keep up. States are loosening licensing restrictions, health plans are agreeing to pay for care delivered remotely, and Medicare and Medicaid are reimbursing for many more telehealth services. This has particularly affected how we provide mental health and substance use care.
