UAB continues telehealth expansion, adds maternal-fetal services

The University of Alabama-Birmingham is extending its telehealth network to two north Alabama hospitals and adding maternal-fetal medicine to its list of connected health services.

UAB announced that it will use a $200,000 grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission to build three telemedicine stations at Bibb Medical Center in Bibb County and three more at North Alabama Medical Center in Lauderdale County. Officials hope to have those rooms ready by the end of the year.
