The May policy webinar will focus on How the Telehealth Industry Can Protect Itself from Healthcare Cybercrime.

With the expansion of the Internet to billions of consumers worldwide, there has been an appreciable rise in the prevalence and activity of unethical actors that prey on the financial and health-related vulnerabilities of patients, caregivers and families across the globe. This session will provide an overview of how illegal online pharmacies and telehealth companies leverage the internet as a vehicle to peddle drugs and false information all while making millions of dollars of profits per month. These bad actors may tarnish the hard-earned reputation and reliability of legitimately operating stakeholders throughout the healthcare delivery system. Coordinated local and international efforts are underway to ensure patients and caregivers are afforded safe and legitimate resources to rely upon and thus avoid the potentially catastrophic harm caused by illegal actors.
