Allie Dodd

Director of Health Policy, Medical University of South Carolina

Allie Dodd serves as Director of Health Policy at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). In this role, she coordinates public policy initiatives across the academic, research, and clinical enterprises of MUSC.

As Director, Dodd oversees the production of public comments and other policy analysis, organizes forums to educate the MUSC community about health policy issues, and promotes leadership development in the health policy field. Dodd works closely with Van Scoyoc Associates in Washington, D.C., to develop MUSC’s federal relations plan each fiscal year, ensuring that each priority is well-researched and aligns with MUSC’s mission and the expected direction of the federal branches of government.

Prior to joining MUSC, Dodd spent more than 9 years at Van Scoyoc Associates, guiding a variety of clients including academic medical centers and universities through the federal budget and policymaking processes. There, she worked closely with Congress and the Federal Agencies as well as trade associations with shared interests to effectively advocate on a range of regulatory and funding issues including research and development, health care, and higher education policy.

Dodd, a Virginia native, earned a Bachelor of Arts in American Politics from the University of Virginia.
