FCC COVID-19 Telehealth Program Application Guidance

Guidance on Applying for FCC COVID-19 Telehealth Funding

As part of the CARES Act, the FCC launched the $200 million COVID-19 Telehealth Program to support health care providers in expanding telehealth and remote patient monitoring technology to patients.

The FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau will begin accepting applications for the COVID-19 Telehealth Program beginning Monday, April 13, 2020 at 12:00 PM ET at www.fcc.gov/covid19telehealth. To support eligible providers, the FCC issued application guidance on the COVID-19 Telehealth Program ahead of the application window.

Given that eligible providers must complete several steps to apply for funding through the program, the ATA recommends that members review the FCC application guidance as soon as possible.

Eligible providers will need to take in to account the following important steps prior to submitting an application:

  • Eligibility determination from the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) for each health care provider site that they include in the application.
  • Register for an FCC Registration Number (FRN) in the Commission Registration System (CORES).
  • Registration with the federal System for Award Management (SAM) which may take up to 10 business days for registration to become active and an additional 24 hours before that registration information is available in other government systems.
