Interoperability and Telehealth Data Elements

This presentation will define interoperability, review the types of data elements that need sharing, and discuss telehealth specific issues. Standards discussed include FHIR and CCDs and terminologies such as SNOMED, RxNorm, and ICD-10.

Patient information is continuing collected in a disparate range of applications – from telehealth visits to in-person clinic visits, hospital stays, lab and radiology results, medication orders, and even patient collected data. The 21st Century Cures Act discusses that healthcare interoperability among all of these applications and data sources is foundational for delivering value and quality.
