    Next week, U.S. Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA 5), with bipartisan sponsors, will introduce a new version of the Medicare Health Parity Act. This bill and the bipartisan Telehealth Enhancement Act introduced by U.S. Rep. Gregg Harper (R-MS 3), features a variety of strategic telehealth coverage improvements for Medicare and other programs strongly supported by ATA.

  • ATA Makes Recommendations on Chronic Care

    ATA provided the U.S. Senate Finance Committee with several specific changes to allow telehealth services for chronic care patients under capitated or prospective payment systems. Some of the recommendations would also amend beneficiary access under fee-for-service payments.

  • New Practice Guidelines for Tele-Burn Care

    ATA has issued for public comment a set of practice guidelines for Tele-Burn Care. The guidelines apply to individual practitioners, group practices, healthcare systems, and other providers of health-related services where there are telemedicine interactions either directly to the patient or from provider to provider for the purposes of healthcare delivery.

  • States Expanding Telehealth in Medicaid Programs

    Beginning this October, Vermont Medicaid will cover and reimburse enrolled healthcare professionals for telemedicine-provided primary care services even when the patient is located outside of a healthcare facility comparable to that of in-person services.Additionally, Michigan and Texas Medicaid programs eased patient setting restrictions for the delivery of some telehealth services.
