ATA Co-Hosts Telemedicine Expo with Senate Broadband Caucus

Yesterday, Senate Broadband Caucus and the American Telemedicine Association (ATA)  hosted a telemedicine expo that featured demonstrations of technologies and innovations that are transforming healthcare delivery. Participating organizations featured many ATA members.  Titled “The Future of Telehealth in the 21st Century,” the event included comments by Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.) as well as remarks by Dr. Sabrina Smith, ATA’s Interim CEO. 

Held at the Hart Senate Building in Washington, DC, the event was well attended by Congressional staff, telehealth leaders, and organizational representatives, and highlighted the important critical role broadband plays in advancing telemedicine. Attendees saw demonstrations by Avizia, Zipnosis, Iron Bow, InTouch Health, GlobalMed, CirrusMD, Call9, Early Sense, LeadingAge CAST, Charleston Area Medical Center, the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, Project ECHO, ComSouth, University of Arkansas for Medical Services, and AllHealth Choice.
